Paul Danik

Greetings,

I sit here and almost don't know how to start to properly thank all of the folks who worked so very hard, and even more importantly, so very well together, in putting the POG display together and then representing the POG so very well to the unending line of attendees who came past the display all weekend.

I believe we had 13 various machines in the display thanks to Jim and Jeff Borer, Doug Wilford, Greg Troyan, John Penton, Jack Penton and Ollie & Al Martin. For awhile we also had a Hodaka thanks to Paul Stannard. Others who helped to man the display were Dane Leimbach, Al Buehner, Al Born, Toni and Gary Roach, Scott Brogan, Paul Stannard and Hodaka Dave Rozier.  If I missed anyone I apologize and please let me know so I can add them to the list.

The gang also did an outstanding job of providing descriptive text about their machines as well as some well placed memorabilia, and even a properly outfitted mannequin thanks to Greg Troyan.

Al Buehner, in a typical unselfish act of generosity, brought in a very large bundle of super large, vintage, original, and beautiful Penton decals. His instructions were, "give these out to folks who you think would want one". It usually played out like this, as a person would tell us their Penton story we would reach back and get them a decal, while giving it to them it was always fun to mention that the gentleman sitting at the table signing items was John Penton.  About this time the biggest smile and "thank you" you could imagine was offered up and the guy would get in line to meet JP and have his new prized possession signed by their hero. If you count smiles and "Thank Yous" as pay checks we will have plenty to cash for a long, long time :)

My weekend at the show ended a bit early as at 4 am Sunday morning my daughter Cami went into labor and headed to the hospital with her husband Jason, Judy and I were not far behind, 25 hours later she gave birth to Gavin and all are doing well..:D It was a long time of waiting and a number of folks were impressed with how I could sleep in just about any position in about any spot that was unoccupied, I credit long hours in the Cycleliner for that skill.

One call to Al Martin on Sunday morning was all it took to be able to rest assured knowing that he and the gang would handle getting my items out of the show and secure them for me.  Thanks guys...

If anyone else has anything about the weekend they wish to tell please feel free to do so. Also, if anyone has any pictures of the display please feel free to post them for all to see.

Paul,
Congratulations on the new arrival. I know you and your family are very proud. Sorry I couldn't make it to the IX, sometimes work gets in the way of fun. Maybe next year.

Toni and I had a great time on Saturday, and it was good to see the POG family again. We were there for 7 hours, but the time just flew by!

We took several photos, and I am going to put them on a CD for Bill Smith and give it to him this weekend.

This Super-Trick 250 Hodaka sure did get some attention.

This was the "star" of the show, Paul's one of a kind "LOGPINER".Quite possibly the most photographed bike of the show.

Here's a link with a few pics from the International Motorcycle Show site. Was kinda hard to find the link. Jack's interview is linked to the last image.
