My forgotten Penton

Here is a funny one,
i bought this 75 Penton 250 HS from our own Chicago Jerry almost 3 years ago,
it had been moved from garage to garage to garage and i seemed to had lost contact with having this great race bike,
the bike was one of Jerry's frame off race builds, fresh motor build, powered coated frame, and all the right goodies that Jerry has a nact for putting together,

this past weekend there was a Vintage ride day at the Nesco Vintage MX track here in South Jersey, Mike Jr. asked if we could get it out and break it in {it only had a few heat cycles on it}, well after a brief run in with fresh fuel, a couple easy laps to check it out for any thing loose i told him to let it rip !!
this bike bar none is the fastest 250 Penton i ever layed eyes on, when he came in after about a 15min track time to give it a rest he couldn't stop smiling and boasting how well this bike ran and handled, it was flawless, he ran it for the rest of the day and the only thing i had to do was adjust the chain once, other than that it was spot on !!

my points here are : Jerry builds one fine bike and if you have the oppertunity to buy one "do not hesitate"
: these Pentons are stone reliable !!!
 : and don't forget your Penton ;)

here are a couple pics of the bike - enjoy -

Jerry let me race one of his 250s at the '09 Marion IL CC race. It was the cleanest running bike I've ever ridden with a Bing carb, jetted perfectly and ran as good as any I've ridden.

Brian,

"ditto" with this bike,
this Bing is spot on, doesn't hesitate, starts on one kick, and runs so clean it's scary !!

thanks for the reply,

i'm flattered beyond words.:D but i will say that brian is right, my personal 250 race bike is jetted perfectly with a bing. since he rode it that day i took off the pvl and installed a dane l reworked motoplat. it smoothed it out a little more and it is by far my favorite vintage bike. chi jer
