Is Will Stoner still doing swapmeets?

nsujeff

I saw Will at the Lorain County Lagrange Engine Show here in Ohio a couple of weeks ago. If I remember correctly he said he will have a swap meet in the Spring here in Ohio.

Thanks Jeff for the update.

It's great to see that Will is again going to host the Feb. Medina event.  At the next POG meeting we will need to discuss setting up a POG display at the event.

It is already shaping up to be a busy winter :)

Here's more info from Will. He is contemplating a Summer swap-meet in West Virginia during a 2-day AHRMA vintage motocross and cross country meet. Again let's support our good friend Will.

(per his email)

I have been asked to consider producing a swap meet July 28-29, 2012 in conjunction with a 2-day AHRMA vintage motocross and cross country race. The event would be east of Morgantown, West Virginia, near the Maryland border.

The site is 250 acres of hills, valleys and woods, with a 2,500 foot grass runway that would be used for race pits, the swap meet and other entertainment activities. Tentative plans also call for a Moto Giro type event and a Reliability Run (dual sport ride) for both vintage and modern bikes. We are also considering a bike show.

Primitive camping will be available, as well as refreshments. Portable showers are being considered. There are plenty of hotels within forty miles, as well as tourist attractions and shopping.

Vendor spaces would be $75 for the weekend and include two passes and camping. Spectator admission will be between $10 and $20.

Would you be interested in participating in this event? It is the week after Mid-Ohio. I would appreciate your opinion and comments either way.

Hope to see you in 2012!

Will

P.S. Don't forget the February 18, 2012 Will Stoner Swapmeet at the Medina County Fairgrounds in Medina, Ohio.

I would hope it is not another 105 degree event like this years Mid-Ohio. A better time of year would improve the chance of success in my opinion. Mike

This was my 6th year in a row at M/O and this was the first time it was super hot. Can't predict what the weather will be, just be prepared. The Syracuse Mile used to run up here in mid Sept, problem up here is after Labor Day it rains more often. Got in a lot, missed a few. Doesn't run anymore for different reasons, I miss it.

the elevation is about 2600 ft so it was about ten degrees cooler last year at the cc site than the lower mountainfest site in morgantown. its beautiful there and the owner, tom mckee is very accomodating. i hope it goes good as is well attended. the downside is that its pretty remote and not necessarily an easy drive for the last few miles. chi jer
