Restoration quetions...

Okay, opinions needed....  In redoing my 75 Jackpiner, the original owner used screws through the side of both rims, instead of rim locks.  Should I keep the screws when I install the new tires, or, install rim locks?  This bike will be a rider, not a show bike.

Tuff call.  I think rim locks are the better all-around solution but the wheels may look worse with the holes on the sides of the rims.  If you are not competing I would keep the screws, they kinda look old school, period correct you know. Saves you the hassel of sourcing rim locks and drilling out the rim too.

Ditch the screws and use a rim lock.  Fill in the screw holes with silicone.

Leave the screws in the rim for looks, grind off the points, use rim locks to secure tire.

Thanks Dale!  Okay, all good points....  I think I am going to try to grind the screws down, and keep them for the look, and install rim locks.  The rims already have the hole for the locks so I don't have to drill them out.  Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it!  James

I agree with THROWNCHAIN (Dan?),  joe
