Anybody know of a good place to get their drum brakes relined? My front drum is gone far enough that I can barely stop even with fairly new brake shoes with plenty of lining material. (the cam sticks at the point were it will almost flip 180 degrees & the cam is in good shape and there is no slack in the brake cable).

Thanks

Woody Graves at Woody's Vintage GP. He does Bultaco's mainly because of their chrome plated drums, but he can do any bike. He recently moved from Florida to WI.

If there is still good steel lining in the hub you can sometimes get away with adding a small bead of weld to the leading edges of the brake cams.

We did it for years on the Huskies, as this was a common problem for them.

Best is to weld up a spare cam & keep one stock. Add a little weld, try it, then grind the weld until it has just the amount of "lever" that you want with the adjusters fully in.

Do you have a rough idea what it costs to reline a drum? My front is out of round.
