Sachs Bottom End Questions

Kip and other engine rebuilders:

1.) I am taking apart a B engine sachs motor and noticed the case screws around the magneto side have heads which are stuck bad and rusted while the 4 around the primary sprocket are not and came loose.  The rusted ones could brake off if I force, etc.?  How do you suggust I loosen these 5 or so screws with rusty heads?  WD-40, put the whole bottom end in the stove....?

2.) What is the bottom end paint color code for the A and B sachs engines in Lymco or other paint brand??

Take your time and soak them good with rust remover. I allways use a impact tool so I dont strip out the heads of the screws.

Hand impact driver for the case screws works well.  Seymor Alumiblast paint (Eastwood/TP Tools) with light coat of PJ1 clear for the cases. Happy New Year!

Thanks for the info to remove the rusty headed and stuck cases screws.  I'll try and find the seymor brand silver paint for the sachs cases.  I should sand blast first the cases.
It is zero degrees at our place in Vermont.  good time to do motor work in the basement by the woodstove.

I agree with Kip and others....use a hand impact.  Also use a good quality, good fitting tip.   joe

Don't sand blast anything on a bike, use glas beads only.  60-80 Grit at 80psi pressure.  Works excellent on frames, engine cases etc, very nice smooth finish and safe with Magnesium. Service your cabinet and beads regularly. Wear PPE when blasting anything.

I found the seymor alumi-blast paints through google search.  They have the clear too. THeir site for the bottom paints is //www.levinautoparts.com pH:855/706-8078.  thanks to all suggestions.
