Hello everyone Im in the process of rebuilding my 1974 mint 400. I was looking at race techs gold valve kit and it sounds good but i have zero experience with them. anybody who has input please put it here. thanks to all.

not that hard to do and well worth it...   i plan on doing the mod to all my personal race bikes as funds allow.   ridden some penton with it done and i liked them.  the stock forks work as well as any stock forks for the era but the gold valves make them better yet.  chi jer

I'll agree. I have them front & rear on my IT 200 and they're great.

It is not that hard to do, the installation is pretty easy. What is hard is getting it set up in a way that it work best for you.  The cool thing is that their tech support is great.  If you get stumped,  contact me and I will give the specs I am running on my bike.

I think emulators are a waste of money, but I am in the distinct minority.

Got 'em on my Mint 400 and Hare Scrambler - I feel they made a big difference.

I've never road a bike with emulators so I really don't know.  Last year Chi-Jer did freshen up my front end with new seals and fork oil.  It made a huge difference over the "no give" from blown out seals I used the previous race season.  What edge are the emulators supposed to give?  More travel or more fluid travel?  I've thought about it but would rather spend my money other places if it will not make that much of a difference.  My Marty Tripes rear shocks were a noticeable upgrade over my old Marzocchis!
