Great news from the Dave Duarte camp. The former kingpin of Penton West is doing well. He walks at least a quarter mile every day and continues to gain strength. He still suffers from vision problems but is extremely optimistic. It's just one more hurdle that Dave has every intention of clearing. It was feared that Dave, in addition to all his other problems, like dying 3 times on the operating table, had liver cancer. Recent tests say NO. After all he's gone through the past couple of months there can be no doubt he'll whip the vision problem. Best wishes Dave. POG is pulling for you.

Just got off the phone from talking with Dave, can't believe how well he is doing :D  He said he walks everyday and also seems to visit the doctor as well each day. Just wanted to pass this along, any of you guys who know Dave or knew him "back in the day" know what a great guy he is, and how connected he is to so much of the rich history of not only the Penton/Hipoint era, but the California/west coast racing scene of days gone by.
