POG calendar master Randy Kirkbride is ready to get the POG 2014 calendar designed and into production. This year we hope to use photos from "back in the day" that will project some of times that we cherish so much, as well as portray some of the history of the Penton Sportcycle.

If you have a favorite photo from those by gone days that you would like to have considered for the calendar please pass it, or several for that matter, along to Randy. Please also provide some info about the photo as well if possible, possibly the year, who is in the photo, ect.

You can bring your photos to the POG meeting and give them to Randy, or email them to him. Randy will provide the correct email address here for this project.

A big thanks goes to Randy for undertaking this project each year and donating the proceeds to the POG.

Start digging thru those old photos on these dark fall evenings and see what you find, sounds like fun in itself, plus it will help with the 2014 calendar.

Also, I will be at the POG Meeting next week & can pick them up there.

This will be our 10th edition of the POG Calendar. It should be a very special calendar.

Calenders going to be available at the Dec POG meeting ?

Randy Kirkbride

I'm not 100% sure if I can make it to the December meeting. If I can't, maybe I can delegate Bud Green to handle the duties like he did last year.

Randy Kirkbride

Please note... the new order form has the price per calendar at $16.00. That is last years price and isn't correct. Due to increases in postage & materials, we've had to increase the price to $17.50.
Thanks.

I bought mine last night at the POG meeting.  I love the pictures and a nice to see it is not a re-hash of a prior calender.  Makes the year much more interesting.

Hey Randy, This is one of my favorites to date! Great job. Bill

The "Back In The Day" calendar that Randy put together is a real trip back in time, and a very pleasant one at that:) From the Steel Tanker being hauled to a race on the rear bumper of a car, to a shot of the Cycleliner parked next to Penton Imports, probably loaded and ready to head to a race many hours and miles away, as well as many other interesting and historic pictures.

All that being said, I think my favorite photo is used for November. Three young men, all from Texas if I remember correctly, standing behind a van still in their period riding gear holding their trophies and looking very, very proud. It looks like they had just left the trophy presentation and were asked to pose with their "iron". All three are wearing a Penton racing jersey, the one with the Penton crest on the front. Many of you have raced and know that tired and exhausted feeling, and what an uplifting feeling it was to have your name called at the trophy presentation, let it be a local two hour hare-scramble or MX, this photo will surely take you back to that very precious time.

Thanks again Randy.....

Paul, That picture was my favorite, too, especially the hair.

Just as a reminder, the price ($16.00) on the order form is incorrect. Due to increases in materials and postage, this year we had to increase the price to $17.50, including postage. That's still a bargain. Thanks

I will have a good supply of calendars at the POG meeting tonight.
Hope to see a good turnout.
