'74 Mint 400 frame

Can anyone tell me if the frame is the same for the 175, 250, and 400? I'm in need of a few frame parts , mainly the swing arm bolt and associated parts. Also did the 400 come with bushings in the swing arm? Mine has needle bearings, 2 on each side, but they are shot. I thought I read here that it came with bushings and if so ,are the needle bearings a direct retrofit? Thanks in advance for any info.  Chris

The 175/250/400 is the same frame, in fact they usually all start with the same 54- frame #. They all used the Needle bearings as well. Mike

Thanks Mike for the info. I've read a bunch of your other posts and learned quite a bit. Are the bearings the same size as '75 up ( 20x26x30mm, I think )?

All of the conical hub rear wheel bearings are the same 73 to 81 or later. Mike

Mike, that is good to know as well. I should have been more specific. I meant the size of the swing arm needle bearings for my '74 400. Also is anyone reproducing swing arm bolts and associated parts?  Thanks again.   Chris

They are the same up to early 1980. I usually watch eBay for the bolts and keep a couple spares around. If you need one, I would take $25 including shipping, and may have a pivot tube that is usable if yours is not salvageable. I usually polish them on a lathe with some emery cloth, cleaning off the rust, but not removing all of the pits in most cases. Email [email protected] for Paypal or more info. Mike

Mike and gooddirt, thanks for the offers. I'm in the research phase, inventorying what I have and what parts are missing. My bike was complete when I bought it in'91, but it's been apart since then and some parts went missing when I moved to PA in '92. Just recently I've been able to devote time to it again. I'm sure it will be a slow process, so I might take y'all up on your offers in the future if you can still help. Thanks very much. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions in the meantime.
