C-A triple triple clamp compatibility?

I've been looking for a top triple clamp for my 81 GS250, without much luck.  The other day I was on Evil bay and saw several Can-Am clamps from the early '80's.  They appeared to be the similar Marzocchi design as the KTMs, although the Can-Am's use tapered bearing as opposed to the ball bearings on the GS. I know there is a whole host of other factors to consider but with manufacturing budgets the way they are perhaps the clamps would interchange with KTM's?
