Well fellows,

I'll be having total hip replacement surgery the Tuesday following our event, March 18.

So, how about make the trek down to South Carolina to send me off in style.

I'll be easy to spot.  Just look for the chubby fellow hobbling around with a cane.

Happy trails,

Al Roof

Ten days out from our 6th Annual Carolinas White Lightning Cross Country Classic and people are already asking about the weather.

The weatherman is calling for 69 degrees, mostly sunny, with 0% chance of rain this coming Saturday, and 67 degrees, partly cloudy, with a 20% chance of rain this coming Sunday.

For Saturday, March 15, the first day of our event, the weatherman is predicting 61 degrees, sunny, and 0% chance of rain.

Ya know, ever since we moved our event to Marvin Grant's farm, and it has benefited the Armenia United Methodist Church, we have had very nice weather.

Hopefully we'll have the same for this, our fourth year there.

Prayers issued forth.

Y'all come!

I need a stellar send off to get me ready to go under the knife for my new left hip.

Happy trails,

Al Roof

Howdy again,

It has come to our attention that some folks are under the impression that our upcoming Carolinas White Lightning Cross Country Classic, Rounds 2 and 3 of the AHRMA Penton Racing Products National Cross Country Series, will be structured like Round 1 at DeSoto Motorsport Park in Grand Cane, Louisiana this past weekend.

At Round 1 in Louisiana they ran the Post Vintage Novices and all Vintage classes, and only those, on Saturday, the ran Post Vintage Intermediates & Experts, and only those, on Sunday.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE AT OUR EVENT!

The 6th Annual Carolinas White Lightning Cross Country Classic is run and scored as two separate Nationals, thus Rounds 2 and 3.

ALL VINTAGE AND POST VINTAGE CLASSES WILL BE RUN EACH DAY, BOTH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.

So, just like the Certs breath mint commercial back in the day, you get two, two, two time the riding at our event.

Y'all come!

Hi all you racers. Concerning the White Lightning Races at Chester, SC. I just got off the PH with Greg Holder.  I was confused about the riding dates myself.  There will be TWO days of racing.  Vintage and Novice Post Vintage - followed by Post Vintage for INT & OPEN.  The same will apply to Sunday.  So get there early Sat. (7:00-9:00am for tech and sign in.  See you all there. Amherst Paul P.S. Greg says that he is going to play his mandolin for us. That alone is worth the trip.[:p]

Grass tracks are staked out.

Trails have been pre-ridden.

Weather is supposed to be gorgeous.

It's going to be epic.

Y'all come!

I am proud to report that our 6th Annual Carolinas White Lightning Cross Country Classic, Rounds 2 & 3 of the AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association) National Cross Country Championship Series raised $2,814.00 for the Armenia United Methodist Church, near Lowrys, South Carolina, in Chester County.

This feat would not have been possible with the use of the gorgeous land and facilities owned by Marvin & Jackie Grant and Marvin's brother Walter, not to mention Marvin's tireless efforts in building and maintaining the trails and property used for this event, and his work in co-producing the event.

Nor could we have taking on this monumental task without the devoted and hardworking volunteers from The Blue Ridge Pathfinders Motorcycle Club (Darrell Garrison, Scott Kahn, Ray Lewis, Andrew Lineberger, David Lineberger, Mark Price, Mike Rhinehart, Dana Rucker Sr, Don Sprinkle, Mark Tart, Aaron Wakefield, Owen Wakefield, and Stacey Wakefield), Greg Harmon, The Family Riders Motorcycle Club (Billy Duc, Pete Gaskins, Kenny King, and Robert Wilcox), all of the many AHRMA volunteers, and the congregation of The Armenia United Methodist Church.

Event co-founder/co-producer Greg Holder and I are very proud of what this event has become, and very thankful for the acceptance and support it has received from historic racing motorcycle community.
