Is there proper paint codes for 1968 pentons?

There are some paint codes out there, but it is difficult getting the correct color paint made up with today's paints.  The paint systems today are very differnt from the 60's through the 90's.  

Getting the correct color with today's paints require samples being  made up and then painting test strips.  I just went through this with my local paint shop, it took two trials to get the correct green for a steel tanker.
