New to Pentons

Newb on the forum, I've been restoring and racing Japanese bikes and Huskys, but am now stepping up to do a 74.5 Hare Scrambler I salvaged from a local basement. The frame, suspenision, and wheels are in decent shape just need some cosmetics; but the motor is trashed. Needs new cases, new crank, and a couple of transmission gears. What year 250 motors are compatible? Anybody got those parts or a full 250 bottom end for sale? Thanks.

Although engine cases, clutch cover design, and intake and exhaust manifolds differ somewhat, entire engines from 1974 through early 1980 are interchangeable to the chassis. Mike
