Reading the new AHRMA Vintage Views I spotted the following announcement from the North Atlantic Cross Country Region.

"On May 17th is a new venue for us.  Reynlow Park near Reynoldsville, Pa.  Our good friend, ISDE Gold Medalist Paul Danik, will be the Grand Marshall for the day.  We will be honoring Paul and his brand of choice, Penton motorcycles.  The former Penton Owners Group president will lead the parade lap and will have his mobile museum there on display.  There will be a special entry discount and/or prizes given to Penton riders that day, and some lucky soul will be leaving with an autographed Paul Danik replica Penton jersey displayed in a shadow box to hang on his/her own wall of fame.  Thanks to Northwest Maico & CZ for donating the jersey.  We will also be holding our first vintage bike show that day, so even if you are not racing the cross country, you can still bring out your old hardware to show off and share."

Drew Smith will be the Grand Marshal at their next venue June 20th at Wild Ride MX Track. Similar event details including a signed jersey, memorabilia, and bike show are also detailed in this announcement.

Condensed version off the full Dave Kuskel article.

Paul is very deserving of being contacted for this event and recognized for his achievements.  I'm already checking my datebook and formulating potential travel plans.  I will post more information if there are any updates.

Well...I regret to inform the POG racing community that (it looks like) I will not make it to the Reynlow Park North Atlantic XC round on May 17th to contribute to the trove of Pentons I know will be there.  Oh - AND to rip on Paul Danik.  So wanted to be a part of this with my Jackpiner.

It gets worse. ;)

I regret to inform the POG racing community that I will not make the Northeast XC round in Bradford NY on May 23rd (near Watkins Glen). That is in my frickin' back yard - anything that is a two drive for me = back yard.

The graduation season is upon us and this year is a bit heavier than most with commencements both weekends. First weekend is a niece - I walked out to the garage and told the Jackpiner about it, and the silence was just deafening.  Jackie Blue was clearly upset.  The second is more special - my daughter graduates from UT-Austin with her M-Ed degree and she already has a teaching job to boot. Hear that sound? Ka-ching.

So...Una-F    -Dilla, here we come.

Jake,
Basically these events are a hare scrambles format...
A bit over an hour in length...most courses are woods trail type riding.
Rather then try to interpret AHRMA NA XC rules in a written forum like this, I'd suggest giving honcho Dave Kutskel a call.
He's at 814.421.1140.
The web site is:

Jake, back in the day we used to say "those that ride without helmets don't need them...there's nothing up there to protect".
But I have a feeling that Dave will want even you to wear a helmet...
