I wonder how this product came to be.
That I can think of, Preston Petty Products only made universal items, and not 'make and model' specific items.

Bob, I think Preston made those for and were sold through Hipoint and were model specific. Fit all KTM motors.

This particular version will fit 73-early 1980 KTM engines only. The cover design changed in mid 1980. Some had KTM logo along with the Preston Petty logo. 1979- early 1980 KTM's had a OEM gray, then black plastic ignition cover, then continued later with the redesigned OEM cover. Mike
