I am assembling my 250 engine. I have 3 different transmissions, 73_75?_78. All thrown in together in a box many years ago. The cases I am using were made 8/74. I see the 73 shift forks and drum are different than later years. Is anyone aware of any other differences? I am concerned that mixing parts from different machines may cause problems.

The newer solid shift drum is better, and I believe interchangeable. Mike
