Happy New Year, All!

I would like to replace the original shocks on my HS. Does anyone have any recommendations on which to buy? A friend has recommended that I buy the Betor MX units, which list for $128 on the Betor website.

I weigh 210 pounds, and I won't be racing the bike. I am mostly riding in woods and trails in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I don't need to break the bank, just soften the bumps.

Also, does anyone know the shock mounting bolt diameter- is it 10 or 12mm?

Thank you.

The Betors are not very long lasting.  They fade fairly quickly and seals are weak.  Hard to beat the Progressives for longevity and price quotient.  They are freon gas bladder shocks.  For short travel they are plenty good.

Some work well for display (i.e. Hagon), some work well for riding/racing with longevity (i.e. Progressive), and others suit more aggressive racing (i.e. Works Peformance).  In my opinion Progressive provides a moderate price and a proven product.
