I followed this one closely and to be honest, was floored to see what it sold for. No doubt it's a nice bike but I feel it was grossly misrepresented. Take a good look at the pics, there's no way this was an original piece like the ad states. It's obvious the frame had been repainted and engine supports are missing. (would show some wear where they would have been bolted to). Rear shocks are certainly not original and look exactly like the replacement shocks that Al Buehner offers on his site at $90 for show bikes. The tool bag and rack look to be repro and the seat cover also looks to have been replaced. The air box cover is repainted and that VDO I'm sure was recently bolted on there too.

The hardware looks original and has patina.

A lot of money for a partial restoration

Check out the questions to the seller, I'm amazed no real questions were asked.

If the $6500 bidder still wants one almost just like it.  Little to nothing is known about what was done to it prior to my purchase.  I replaced almost all of the fasteners with new along with a number of re-plated bits.    No title, but mine is running
