Looking to purchase a set of nos rings for a STD bore 76 KTM MC5 250.

Larry Perkins

Al Buehner should have those.  If you end up boring it I have two NOS 1st over pistons with rings.  They are Original Penton stock.

I checked with Al earlier today and he only has one ring. Good to know if and when I ever need to go 1st over. Thanks Larry

Larry Perkins

Send me the part numbers of the rings you need.  I remembered I have a few 250 rings in a small KTM/Penton parts stash that I bought about a year ago.  Most is newer KTM but there were some 54 rings.  I can not check until just before Christmas as I am right now in Chicago getting prostate cancer treatments till then.  Just send me an email with the part numbers if you have them.  Thanks.

Check with Terry.  http://pentonmotorcycles.com/

Here's a 72mm L ring on Ebay plus many listed by part number only.

Larry thanks for the help, this can wait. I hope all goes well with your treatments. Thanks again!

Dale I appreciate the information and recommendation. Thank you

Larry Perkins

No problem!  The ring part number Dale listed is for a 400 but there may be others that are 54 rings on there.

Not sure what part number you need , but I have a 76 KTM MC5 250 with a STD bore (71mm) and in need of a set of rings. Thank you

Larry Perkins

I can look it up when I get home.  It starts with 54-

Hi Larry,

I too would like to wish you all the best with your treatments. We are fortunate to live in an age of such wonderful medical advancements and knowledge.

70MXer, good luck with your project, just wanted to chime in to Larry !

Thank you Paul and you are right.  Prostate cancer is fairly easy to cure just most of the methods cause peripheral damage and you are left with bowel, urinary, or sexual problems the rest of your life.  The method they are using on me is called pencil beam proton radiation and it is very centralized in aiming and does not damage the tissues it goes through so it concentrates mainly on the prostate.  I am a little over halfway through and very little problems so far.  It is a modern miracle of science and I was very fortunate that my insurance approved it and that one of the dozen places that does it was only 3 hours away in Chicago.  OK, that was probably TMI but it amazes me the science.

I appreciate the well wishes Paul and as I have said many times to others and to you, "You are a good man!"

Hello Larry, I believe the part # is 54-30-007-000 for the ring set to my 71mm STD bore. Hope that helps.

Thanks again,
Gary Ponce

Larry Perkins

Sorry no std.  I have first, second, and third over in NOS only.  There is a lower std. on eBay but different number.
