Good Morning Pentonland...I'm building a 1975 175 Jackpiner/Crosscountry, And I was wondering just what headlight switch people are using today? Its going to be a rider, so no need for an original or a period correct piece. Just one that will operate the headlight (Hi/Low beam),rear running light when the headlight is on ,kill switch and maybe a horn.

Thanks Jim

James,

These look like the same as the original CEV switches and work just fine.  https://www.amazon.com/HANDLEBAR-SWITCH-WAY-Manufacturer-46-68900-AD/dp/B008Y630MC

James,

I am running a Motoplat ignition and the way I have it set up is the Yellow wire (35W) coming from the Motoplat is going to the switch for power to the headlamp.  The Green (18W) coming from the Motoplat is going to my taillamp which is always on and the White (5W) coming from the Motoplat goes to my brake light switch and then to brake side of the tail light.  I am also running an LED tail lamp which is always really bright even with the low wattage feed.

Hope that clarifies.
Thanks,
Kevin

Thank you so much Kevin, that was one of my thoughts was to run the rear light on all the time.I just assumed it was going to be switched when the head light turned on. Thanks again Buddy.

Morning Kevin, I really like the idea of a LED taillight. Did you go to just a LED replacement for the 1157 or is it a whole new taillight set up?? And does the LED work on AC current that the Motoplat puts out?
