Greetings,

Al is home from the hospital and is resting up. I spoke with him yesterday, and as usual, he is very upbeat and is looking forward to getting back into action.... He is planning on making the POG meeting with his brother Dale doing the driving. Al said he "got his butt kicked" going thru his refurbishment.... It will surely take some time for Al to get back up to speed, but its great to see how well he is coming along.

While at the Glenn Curtiss event this past weekend I had the opportunity to talk with a POG member who has done a serious amount of Penton restorations, and just recently finished a brand " X " restoration. In our conversation he went to great lengths to tell of the incredible service that Al provides... Stating that Al makes buying Penton parts " a pleasure ", as compared with his brand " X " experience.

Best wishes Al for a quick and full recovery !

Paul

Pass on our best wishes to Al from the lads in Oz. Haven't been on the site for awhile so it was a shock to hear he had been in hospital.

Greetings,

I was totally amazed at Thursday night's POG meeting when Al walked in grinning and laughing with all of his assorted paperwork in hand, just as though he had been away on a luxurious vacation and not really in the hospital.....makes me wonder :)

I am sure it will take some time for him to fully recuperate and catch up on his workload and filling of parts orders, but it was very nice to see him doing so well.

Hi everyone, thanks for your prayers.
This whole deal has left me feeling like I was beat up and thrown under a bus. Thank goodness the bus was not moving. [xx(]

I feel like I am on a roller coaster ride. Up the hill one day and down the hill the next. The biggest challenge for me is the medications that I am on.
One of them is cudamin. This is a blood thinner that requires a fine balancing act between the dosage and what you eat (primarily leafy green vegetables with vitamin K). Vitamin K counteracts the cudamin. Another medication enhances it. After all these past 3 weeks the blood levels are where they need to be and I am getting a better handle on my diet and what I can eat.
I am also on a sodium intake restriction of 2,000mg per day. I have to read the labels on everything to make sure that I am somewhere around this. Thats a lot of things that is generally taken for granted that can not be eaten.  :(

Overall I am on the mend getting better each day. Another problem that I had was sleeping. I am finally able to get about 6 hours of sleep at night. This is making me feeling stronger and energetic when I wake up in the morning.  :)

Keep the prayers coming - seeing me healthy and surrounded in love and light.
