Could someone please help me with the new method of sizing tires. I'm looking for a rear 4.50x18 and front 3.00x21. Most tire shops now days use a metric method of sizing. Would someone please give me a quick lesson on this conversion....thanks

Maybe that'll answer your question.

Steve, Go with the Pirelli MT16 tires. These are great tires and up till this year still used the old inch method.  But now use the metric system for same tires. here are the current measurements.
80/100X21
120/100x18

Now this is a BIG tyre. Not like the old 450X18 Motocross/enduro Metzler. Which was really a 4.25 size , 4.60 , 110/100
You can get a 4.60 X 18 C755 Cheng Shin or the big 5.10 X 18 which is similar to a 450. OR you can go with the Kenda K257D in a 300X21 and a 450X18 ( they also have a 5.10 but I can't see diffence with them side by side.
Hope this helps,
Dwight

I would consider using the MT16 Pirelli.
I use them on my modern race bikes with excellent results. They have a vintage look but work as well as any modern tire. Where you run into problems with the MT16 is if you have a 125cc bike the 400 is a bit large for Vintage class bikes.
I would consider the Kenda K257D if I were you if you must go economy class.  They wear better and seem to perform better.
