Dave Miller of FMF / DMC  and Penda fame passed away suddenly on Friday at his shop in Anaheim, Ca. He had recently completed Chemotherapy treatment for Brain Cancer. Dave was very generous with his time and loved to talk vintage bikes. His fabrication skills were second to none as evidenced with the bikes he built. He had a photographic memory and could still tell you from memory the exact dimensions / geometry for fitting up the exhaust on the original Penton Hiro that he built over 40 years ago. You can read more about his story on the Cyclenews.com webpage. Rest in Peace Dave!

Thanks Cal.  Dave Miller was a Master and leaves a huge gap in the History of MX Racing.  May he RIP.

Here's a brief article from Cycle News.  One Hiro and two Penda's that came out of FMF and Dave's shop still survive.  He always spoke very favorable about the Penton chassis.  The Hiro and Sachs engines not so much.  He talked about bending Honda forks just rolling them out of the truck at the track and frequently breaking frames and pegs off.
