DC Side Panels

Frame number for 78 GS6 is 55.03.001.600, exhaust side panel 55.05.175.600, l/s 55.06.041.600.

Thanks for all your replies guys, I appreciate your time and help.

Carl I finally got out and measured my frame and I get the same sizes as you (Although I measured them in mm)
L/H side of frame brackets 271mm or 10-11/16 inches
R/H side frame brackets 223mm or 8-3/4 inches.

The DC panels however measure
L/H 257mm or about 10-1/8 inches (9/16" out)
R/H 217mm or about 8-9/16 inches (3/16" out)

I took some images to show how far out the panels are, I'll try and post them here but if I were to re-drill them the holes would be completely outside the depressed section on the moulding

I didn't expect a perfect fit but these are pretty poor and would look proper shabby no matter how I fit them. Particularly the L/H side one.

After cleaning off the rear of my original panel I discovered it was Orange! Does anyone know if they made an orange bike in 78?? I couldn't find any images of one on Internet???

Tom thanks so much for the offer of your panels. I'm in Scotland U.K. though so I don't suppose you'll want the headache of international postage
