There was plenty to discuss and celebrate at last night's Penton Owners Group meeting held in the Jackpiner room of the KTM office building. I don't know the official count of attendees, but I did see extra chairs being carried in.

Much of the evening's discussion was about the upcoming Walkin' on Wednesday gathering that will take place on Wednesday August 13th in beautiful downtown Amherst, Ohio, from 4 to 7:30.

KTM will be parking one of their big race rigs in the center of town and we hope to have a nice turnout of Pentons to place around it. It is interesting to note that KTM is encouraging their employees to attend the event and from what I hear KTM is providing each of their employees with a special John Penton shirt to wear.

The relationship between the Penton Owners Group and KTM is very special, and it justifiably reflects the respect that the folks at KTM have for John Penton. Hopefully there will be plenty of Pentons on hand for the KTM employees to observe as they learn more about KTM's history, that is where you come in. If you can be there, with or without a Penton, please feel free to do so.

The local newspaper ran an article about this special evening and about John Penton's upcoming 100th birthday. The more help we have to answer any questions and to represent the Penton brand the better. There is talk of even having some TV coverage of the event. Set up for the evening will begin around 2 pm so if you can load up a Penton, or even if not, please join with the POG for what will surely be an unforgettable evening.

As for the celebration part of last night's POG meeting. POG President Rick Bennett recently turned 70 and some birthday cake was shared by all. Hopefully the singing of happy birthday to Rick by the gang was recorded and can be sent to America's Got Talent..........

John Penton was 70 years of age when the Penton Owners Group was formed, and one of our board members was just one year of age when the POG was formed, unbelievable. Hope to see ya Wednesday night, and John just might make an appearance !
