We had a chance to play with an old style Lectron yesterday. It has the set screw that holds the needle in place on the slide . It looks to us that it would be a great help to replace the old style slide withy one of the new ones.
You would gain 1/4 turn idle mix adjustments over the 1/2 turn setup of the old slide. Also the needle does not move around as much, so when you have it out for an adjustment you can put it back in with out haveing to remove the air box cover.
We priced new slides from Speedy and they go for $44 and change US. No set screw , the needle is held in place buy tension on a nylon thread. much easier to adjust in the field. Its the same slide we have on our new Lectrons and is a much better more precise set up.
Just a thought for those of us wanting to use Lectrons on our bikes.
