I bought my last KTM seat cover from an AHRMA advertisement which appeared in the "Vintage Views" and on their website at least one year ago, maybe two.

Does anyone have any old copies of Vintage Views and could see if they can find his contact information for me?  I'm trying to help another new POG member resurrect his 79 KTM 250.

I DID a thorough search through the POG forum and found quite a few references for acquiring a new seat cover.  However, I like to stick to what's worked for me in the past.  I know these fit the 79's and the KTM log has held up very well for me.

Thanks,
Phil

My '81 is embossed. Are these as well?

Forgive me as I had to look up the exact meaning of "embossed".

No, the KTM logo isn't raised aboved the rest of the seat cover, nor relieved below the cover itself.  The KTM logo seems to be part of the cover itself, and is NOT a stencil that has been applied.  If it was painted on the cover after installation, it certainly was a good job because it is holding up well to riding and to power washing.

Okay, well, if you run out of options, send me a note. I still have the spare and no longer need it and might be persuaded to toss it in the mail!

I have a couple of 79-81 seat which need to be recovered and I was considering sending them to Rick Ticknor at Ricks upholstery in Oregon that advertises on eBay to recover any seat in the correct style and logo for $ 60.00 plus shipping. I missed bidding on the MXM Racing 81 seat cover that sold for just over $ 42.00 the other day, but that was the only 79-81 seat covers I have ever seen for sale. My seats also have the KTM logo slightly indented like a heat-pressed then painted white logo on the back of the seat. Any leads on seat covers for them would be greatly appreciated.

Mike/Bob,

The answer is:

http://www.rtrmoto.com  It's primarily a Can-Am site but the Vintage Views "Marketplace" ad says he has "KTM-all" seat covers for $49.95.  I'm happy with the quality of mine ('79 250 MC/GS) although I don't know if it's truly OEM or a close cousin.  My bike is a nice rider and not meant to be a museum piece.
