After an exhaustive search (.. well that might be a slight  exaggeration..) in the archives I am still debating over engine paint for my black motor 175 project.  Anyone have experience with he PJ1 case paint?    Which most accurately reflect the original finish, the gloss or satin?  How does it hold up with use?

Does anyone have experience with powder coating and if really is superior for engines?

Mike, I went with the satin on my Piner. The gloss is to high a gloss. If you are going in that direction I would suggest a semi-flat and not a semi-gloss. The semi-gloss would still have two much "sheen" to it. Powder coating is good to. Lots more prep work. All threaded holes need to be covered as well as all that take a seal, shaft, ect.as the powercoat builds fast. Powdercoat is harder to repair also. I would have to look but I think that dupli-color has a semi-flat of satin. They also use the "fan" type spray nozzles that seem to paint the best. HTH Dennis D
