Motoplat coil testing

Hi Guys,

I have about 5 or 6 motoplat coils that I have accumulated and none of them want to offer up a spark. Upon testing with an ohm meter, they all read between 78 and 80 ohms. I recall reading that they should not read above 24 ohms, but it seems odd that they were all bad AND yet reading so close to each other. These were all black lead coils. Any thoughts from the brain-trust?
