Patrick, Just for fun I went through all my Penton books and magzines to see if I could help with the year of your KTM 125. The color orange is right for a 1975 are 1976 and 1977 but for sure its not a '77 by the airbox and frame. 1975 was the first year for the KTM 125 that I remenber. I had one a few years back that my son rode. The rear supension makes me thing yours is one of the early 1975s. The 1974 frames had two shock mount holes, with swinging arm having 5 shock mounts. This gave 125mm (4.9") up to 178mm (7") of travel just by changing mounting holes and spring rates. The 340mm Ceriani, gas shocks, most likey were used. Your frame looks to have just one place to mount the shocks, as my 125 was the same. The 175, 250, and 400 by my records all still had the two frame mounts in '75. This data is from a '78 service bulletin so has any up-dates from '75.

    Displacement 125cc
    Bore/Stroke  54/54mm
    Perforance   24HP/9700rpm
    "X" deck height .5mm (.020")
    Ign timing B.B.D.C. .9mm
    Plug  Bosch 340 S1S
    plug gap .06mm
    Transmission 6 speed
Gear lub 1.1 quart Automatic fluid
Forks 190mm Ceriani 35mm straigh axle-drained and refilled 220cc (7.45 oz), of 10 wgt. fork oil, disassembled 235cc (7.95 oz) this is for all '75 models. Hope this can be of some help. As for the year of your KTM for sure????? D&D
