Rebuilding rear brake drums

Does anybody have any experience rebuilding rear brake drums on our wonderful Pentons? Is the original steel drum pressed into the alloy wheel? Is the hub cast around the drum? How is it made? Can one turn a new steel drum on a lathe, turn the old drum true in the hub on a lathe and then press it in? Or spot weld it in? It seems that any spot welding would lead to warpage. Or do you completely turn out the whole old drum on a lathe and press in a new one? I've run out of good hubs with good drums. I either have good hubs and worn out wavey drums, or good drums and cracked hubs. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Teddy

Teddy, check out these guys  //www.woodysvintagegp.com  They had a display set up in the MX pits at Mid-Ohio and it looked interesting.
