I have two 175 cranks, both equally bad, to rebuild for a motor I'm doing. One has little balance holes outside and cutouts by the rod, the other has large balance holes and solid crankwheels. Which is the better one to use, is there any real difference? I couldn't really find anything definitive in Search. I read the large bearing late crank would be better but I don't want to go there. Thanks, Dan Pagel

wild man, IM no expert on this, an old post talked about the magneto ends of the cranks being different, for what reason ? I dont remember,  E mail Kip, he may shed some lite on this.

The 72 and 73 175's had a 20mm journal on the mag side and they broke off at the crank flywheel once in awhile. I know this from experience in 1973.  The updated cranks had a 25mm journal.  As far as the flywheel differences, I'm not sure.
