Do you think that a scramble track like the old days could make it now?I remember a lot of good racing with both tires on the ground.

I doubt it seriously but I do think a Euro style GP track would. Some jumps, no doubles, largely natural terrain, high speed.

We do have tracks like that. Most of the AHRMA MX and CC races resemble the old scramble races and are great like at Casey, Diamond Dons, Delaware. Many of the MOVMX series vintage races in Missouri are on natural terrain. I hope the new track at Mid (mud) Ohio will not be TOO modern.

We have two races like that each year and they are always well attended. A number of the races that I have attended the last two years have been too modern, Some have suggested that for the Post vintage bikes it is appropiate to have a more modern track, and as I recall, There were more obstacles than the tracks of the early 70's but no one but the Pro's did the doubles amd rythm sections.. and even if the tracks were tougher,,, those of us who did ride them back then are not as tough as we once were... Not to mention many of us do not have the skills to ride these modern obstacles... So we put ourselves in harms way when we try to do what we have never done before,,, not that I want to take all the challenge out of the track but neither should we set up the track just for the former Pro riders, I think it is possible to make it challenging but not daunting for both...

I just remember racing these tracks in the late 60's and early 70's and they were so much fun. They didn't beat you to death and you could open it up on the straights.I guess this is why I ended up flat tracking, that and they paid CASH !!!
