Tommy,
It seems I missed the posts on your bike. That is what I get for working too much and relaxing too little. I am the one who is bidding on it. Anything I should know besides what was posted on ebay? I am looking forward to having a jackpiner to restore. By the way, I live in the Kansas City area and will be in St. Louis this coming weekend.

Jerry,

I hope this doesn't make anyone mad, but this is what happened to the bike.  I spent the day yesterday driving about 500 miles with my brother to go pick up a couple bikes I bought back in January.  He is contemplating a career change that would allow him to be off weekends (he works every weekend now except in February).  I knew that if this change happened he wanted to try his hand at riding dirt bikes.  When we were kids I traveled around to trials events in Missouri and Illinois and he (my younger brother) was my sidekick.  Through recent talks I discovered how much this meant to him.  During our drive he mentioned that he's always dreamed of building an old muscle car, but my exploits with the dirt bikes has him thinking he could satisfy that urge by rebuilding a dirt bike.  Soo... when we got back to his house I went in an cancelled the auction and gave him the bike.  I know this will be a good thing if he gets half the fun out of this as I have.  I couldn't think of a better way to enter this hobby than on a Penton.  I gave him the POG address and encouraged him to read and learn.  He'll probably be coming on here to ask questions and I know everyone will be friendly and helpful.  Wayne is a great friend and brother and I'm excited that he's showing an interest in something so dear to my heart.

congratulations to your brother! i'm glad to see that it will be put to good use! i plan on contesting the ahrma CC series and i want to ride the sportsman 200 class.in reality, the only 2 bikes that i would consider riding are a jackpiner or a can am. i'll come up with a bike or 2. i'm just trying to get one ready in time to make it for gainesville. currently working on putting a can am together but it would be nice if i could find one a little closer to ridable than the one i'm piecing together. i've also got a line on a jackpiner from one of my old clubmember buddies in illinois. anyone know of a vintage legal 175 can am? either a tnt or an mx. could be a roller, i have a good motor already.  "chicago" jerry    cell#440 213 5146

Tom,
Now I understand what happened to the auction. We did not have a chance to visit over the weekend (my fault!) and I did not know what had happened. Although I am disappointed, I am thrilled for your brother. I have bought several items off of ebay for the bike and if he needs something, I am more than happy to let them go. Our topic for our retreat this weekend was forgiveness. In this case, there is no need. What could be more wonderful than to share a passion with your brother. I know this will bring many hours of enjoyment to both of you! Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thanks for understanding guys.  Bob, email me with a list parts and prices that you are willing to sell and I'll pass it on to Wayne.
