Folks,
We have an old dealer in our area that has some 152 non Wiseco piston and ring kits. They use a 16 mm wrist pin. I believe he has replacement ring sets for them also. Would anyone like his e-mail address?
Have a Happy New Year POG !

Yes, John, I'd be interested. I need to build a 152 motor in the near future. Any info on the differences compared to the Wiseco's. Wisecos seem to have uneven expansion.

Lew , Nelson,
Here is the e-mail address. The mans name is Jimmy Thornton.
He is an old time enduro man.

Let him know you folks are the ones I was talking to him about.
My experience with the old wiseco pistons was not good. They had to be clearance d too large for the bore size and had a bad habit of seizing. I found out years later that the alloy was good just the cam grinding was not correct. You needed to run a new piston in front of a fan for 15 or 20 mins at 3000 or so rpm. Pull it down and lightly sand with 600 the high spots on the skirts.
The old Kits also had  soft Iron Rings. They would seat in just a few mins but would need to be replaced very often.
I met Jimmy last week at the local bike shop and he was telling me about the pistons he had. He had the same experiences  we did with Wiseco back then. The ones he had now were a better quality and the rings were not the soft iron type.
Hope this was some help. Happy New Year Guys!!!!!!!

Seems to  be the exact problem I have with them. I correct them roughly the same way. When (not if) they seize, I take them down and sand the high spots with 1200 grit. I've even tried drilling a lube hole at those high spots like the ones KTM does at the exhaust bridge.

Lew,
I got a look at the pistons today. They should be good ones. They have 2 rings and the top one is chrome.
