What is the best route to go on refurbishing the spokes and rims. This project is not going to be a rider. I'm looking for Penton Calendar quality here. Any advise would be appreciated.

Rod  Order a new set of Radaelli chrome rims from Mike at Walridge Motors, Canada and either order new spokes/nipples from him or reuse the old ones and have them zinc plated.  The spokes were painted originally but zinc looks better and won't scratch off like the painted ones when you lace the wheels. right on with Waldridge motors,[:p] I have six of there radelli rims on and going on my Penton projects. There is also a fella out in Arizona that sells SS spokes.  His name and number are posted here, somewhere. I have both their addies and phones # @ home and I'll post later unless someone beats me to it.

Rod:  If your spokes were originally painted something you can do is to purchase stainless steel spokes by sending in your samples to Buchannan Spokes and when you get them glass bead them.  Makes them dull and looks very much like original silver paint. Advantage is they NEVER rust again.  Go for ss nipples also and polish them if yours were chrome.  Make sure you use the special thread lubricant Buchannan supplies as SS to SS can seize up with no lube.

Thanks for the information, guys. Great call on Waldridge. Mike was very helpful,he knew exactly what I needed. I'll be ordering after Christmas.

Got the powder coated frame back Friday, lookin' good but a long ways to go.

One thing I may add Rod:  Waldridge sometimes has a long waiting period on the rims.

They told me 8 -10 weeks. This is a project and I'm in no hurry.
