Anyone out there know the size of the nut that attaches the brake arm to the cam for a 72 Jack Piner?  My spare parts manual lists it as an 8MM with a part number of HN 8X1, but it does not appear to be a standard thread pitch.

Thanks in advance,

KD

Kevin,
I believe you have the right info. Its an 8 X 1 mm nut. 8 mm diameter and 1 thread per mm in length. Thats a fine thread not usually available at most stores. Al should have them.

John's right, that's a fine pitch thread. I learned the hard way on my first restoration project. The hardware store didn't have the right nut but luckly they had the correct die so I could chase my messy threads.

If you really want to get down to the brass tacks, the nut mentioned has a 14mm outer hex vs a 13mm.;)

Thanks for the feedback guys...this was just one of the items that was not in my buckets of parts when I started this project.
