Blessed be the POG. Actually, my latest creation is a 76/250 cc MC5 with an 81 cyl. and head with 36mm Bing. Proto pipe with custom FMF silencer, draws air like I have not seen b-fore :D
Thanks in advance!!!!

Tom,
I will priority mail you a #50 idle jet, but I don't have a main the size you want.  Check around and see if anyone has a set of jet drill bits and make your own.  I believe you on the size but I have never had one that big in a 250 that I can remember(of course memory is a questionable detail when you get my age).  All your address still the same?  later my Friend.

In my pretty big collection the largest Main jet is 180.

Are you sure about the 240 size???

Dear Dr. Helmut Clausen, have you ever ventured into the unknown? Take a gamble, try something new?
My new bike, the "silver bullet" is an attempt to satisfy a "dream". An 81 cyl. has some unique porting with a very un-heard of Proto pipe that I found on Ebay, has a flavour of it's own, very fat in the middle....I have to make adjustments.....do you "see"

Tom,
I think I have a 195 and maybe a 210??? not sure, but if you feel like you need that big you need to buy a jet drill.  Thanks for the follow up on receiving the other jet.

Tom, A lot of the Maico's use those large mains, you may wish to check with some of those guy's.  Also, I am sure Bing International will have them too.  CIAO

Tom,
You're putting the Proto pipe to good use at last? It would be interesting to see what it does for typical '73-'77 motors. Thom Green has one on his '76 250 that he installed back in the day, seems to do very good on that bike. The one you got on ebay is the only other one I've seen.

Been talking to Eric Cook of Maico's Only about making a KTM pipe. He did up a Cranke-spec 250 pipe and is prepared to do others. But he suggests moving the chamber forward in a downswept then up design so the pipe is skinnier in the "belly", to leave more room carb access/clearance. That in mind, it seems like what he'd be making would be a Proto-pipe replica, essentially?

Let us know how it works when all is dialed in.  Jon
