Hey gang, the results are posted at

http://www.ahrma.org/results/2006/cc_2006_04-05.pdf

What a fantastic weekend we all had.  It went without a hitch. Beautiful trails, beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, tons of beautiful bikes. The scoring program worked well after an initial glitch on Saturday but was fixed quickly by Brian Jahelka the programmer who volunteered to score the event for us. No one got seriously hurt (a few got lost, a few fell off their bikes!!!). I have never seen so many happy faces. The tire changing contest was won by Gary Lingbeck, the same guy as last year, and second place, Dave Rozier, was only 0.13 secs behind him and has vowed to beat him next year!!!

We ran a total of 88 miles, 48 the first day and 40 the second. The three special tests went from 1321 seconds to 2000 seconds the first day with most people in the 1500 to 1700 range or around 27 minutes, and from 1378 to 1950 seconds the second day. We finished everything including the 5 lap grass track, the publishing of the final scores, and handed out the metals and the team trophies before 5:00 PM Sunday. It was a great weekend. We had 72 VERY happy riders.

The Hodaka team guys showed a lot of brand loyalty. We REALLY need to get some Penton teams going for next year and for this fall at the ISDTRR. I believe all 10 Penton/KTM riders did well except Marc Hodge who was battling Bing carb problems all weekend. He had a 45 pilot jet and a 150 main. I gave him a 30 pilot and 140 main and it made it worse!!! Another worn out Bing????

I hope more Poggers can make it next year, it was fantastic.

I should have mentioned that Marc was on a 125cc Six Day with a 27mm carb.

Teddy,
Thanks for the quick results and most of all for the time and effort you and Rosemary put into this event.

Did I understand it right that you gave awards out each day ?
Why ? I can understand the each day points deal but I thought a 2 day was just that , a 2 day event. I would figure to get a medal you would have to finish both days.  AHRMA points could be award per the evaluation points of each day. I feel that giving awards each day puts undue strain on the clubs resources for an event with only 72 riders. I want the club to continue putting on this event but if they are losing money they won't.
Just a Thought,
Dwight

Dear Dwight,

I gave out medals instead of plaques (more expensive) each day in order to save money for the club. I then went whole hog on the team trophies and paid out trophies down to the sixth team. The team trophies were labled " First Place, ISDT Qualifier, U.S. Trophy Team". "Second Place, ISDT Qualifier, Silver Vase A Team". "Third Place, ISDT Qualifier, Silver Vase B Team". "Fourth Place, ISDT Qualifier, Club A Team". Then Club B and Club C teams for fifth and sixth. The trophies were figures of a guy in riding gear on a motorcycle climbing a rock - super cool. All three team members on each team got one. The Two Day portion of the event was basically  the team competition. All team members had to ride the same bike and finish everything on both days. We had 13 teams to begin with and only 9 finished.

Lynn Burton did a great job estimating how many medals we would need for 75 riders from the past ISDTRR and ISDTQ events and I ended up with only a hand full of unused medals and everyone got one that deserved it. I came in under budget on the cost of the medals and trophies.

I also designed and ordered 120 tee shirts and sold 106. The club has never been this successful at tee shirt sales. These tee shirts will become collectors items since there are none left (the club members scarfed up the remaining 14) and everyone had such a great time. Some people bought 5 at a time.

I hope this allays your fears about the clubs expenses. We sure wish you could have been there!!!!

I hope you remembered to get Deb & I , T-shirts.  Let me know what I owe you and I will send a check. Email me at home.
Glad you came in under budget.
Thanks,

The Team Trophies are to die for!  I'm glad Teddy didn't show them to be before the event or 1) I would have really choked, or 2) I would have been really disappointed much earlier (carb problems on Day 1/Special Test 1 that cost me 10 minutes).
