:DDad and I just returned home from the ISDT reunion ride last night and the whole weekend was very specal.

The reception at the Mungenast museum Thursday night gave us a great opportunity to visit with so many friends we don't see often, especially the Mungenast family.

Unfortunately Friday the driving rain drove most of us indoors but Saturday and Sunday were perfect sunny days and both Dad and I got to talk to nearly everyone at the event. Being able to share a weekend with so many of our good friends is the hightlight of the year for me.

The banquet was very good and there was a great turnout of ISDT vets. The awards committee does a wonderful job of selecting the award recipients and Larry Maiers did a real nice job of MCing the evening.

My biggest fear is that I will go to a reunion and miss talking to one of the vets or and old friend, This year I didn't ride which gave me pleanty of opportunity to wander around the pits and starting line and see everyone. Dad and I also went out on the trail each day and cheered on all of the riders.

I must admit that watching everyone ride gave me an odd twitch in my right wrist and a dull pain in my heart. Not a real medical problem more like the desire to have been riding! Don't worry I know the cure and I will be riding next year at the ISDT RR. Also I came home and called my sons and warned them to tell their wives that come next October the old man was draging them away for a weekend in Arkansas.

There is nothing more precious to me than my family and friends and the last four days were a great time.

Have a great day!

It was more than just a good feeling during a special test to see an orange jacket, waving arms and hear words of encouragement. All of this from you Jack, as it is what keeps me going. As the right wrist twists, the feelings are beyond words.

Thank you,
Young Ted

It was great seeing Jack out there. My brother Kyle had a good second day after his flat on day 1.  He said when he saw Jack cheering him on he hit that throttle!  It's great all the riders, six day vets, and the missouri mudders support and put on such a great event.  They can't help that it rained and made day 1 a bit tougher.

It was so good to see you and your Dad there this weekend too Jack.  Getting to spend the weekend with my Dad and riding with my brother was the greatest.  I hope you will be able to do the same next year with your Dad and sons.

It was also fun to have you leading the cheering section along the trail on Sat/Sun.  Hopefully next year we'll get to talk at the checkpoints as well as the pits and during the banquet.

Good Luck,

Jack.. It was great seeing you out there cheering everybody on. I notice that someone was waving their arm, I looked over and notice it was you. I thought to myself, Jack Penton cheering me on? Yes me what joy I felt. Thanks for the cheering, I will always remember Sunday. That extra cheering gave me 5 extra seconds on the special test section. It made this class win very special to me. If your sons need a bike for next year,I have a 1977 GS6 175 that one of them can ride.     Thanks Gary Ellis

With my fathers health getting worse and worse Jack, I will do everything i can to get him to Arkansas to see you and your family. I know he would dearly love to see your father and all of you guy's. I just found a whole folder of Six Days pic's he took when he went to Spindleruv Mlyn, Czechoslovakia. Maybe i'll scan a bunch of them and post them here for all to see. I even have some of the KTM Plant when they made a visit there during the trip. Simply amazing photo's and brings back many memories of the good old days for us. I also found a very nice booklet Husqvarna put out called "Silver Chase" from the 48th ISDT in Berkshire. Some fantastic memories and awesome photo's from the good old days! Found sone of the old result sheets from the alligator in 1970 where Penton's dominated their classes and a few Keepin Track Result sheets.I even ran across JR Horne's Obit that Mrs Horne sent us when JR passed on. You guy's take care and i'll do my best to get him to Arkansas next year.

Jack,

Thank you so much for coming out to cheer for us. What an honor it is to have you and John there. You perked me up every time I saw you in the woods. I also appreciated the pat on the back at the starting line at "Mud Ohio" two years ago. It meant a lot to me. I am thankful for your recovery and look forward to riding in the same event with Jack Penton next year.

Jack - posting on the forum here.......how cool is that?
(answer: VERY!)

It's wonderful to hear from you here Jack, and knowing your health is on the upswing is the best news of all.

When are you going to get your dad to jump in here ?, I'd love it if that happened.

Thanks

Thank so much to all of you. I had a ball and can't wait to do it again.

Bob had a good idea. Next time dad drops by the house for coffee I'll get him to say something on the site.

Love all you guys!

PS Your seat cover is on the way Bill!

Hey there Dwight, Good to hear from you. I take it from your post asking me to come out and play you did not hear of my injury that has disabled me. I broke my neck in 5 places and my back in 4 places  4  years ago and have had a 4 level fusion in the neck twice and now awaitng serious back surgery to install a cage and 2 rods down the entire lenght of my spinal cord. Believe me my friend, I'd give anything to gear up and swing a leg over the Sachs 80 and come play but unfortunately that can never happen again. We spent many a days playing and it was some of the most memorable times in the industry for me Dwight and I thank you for that. I have a daughter that lives in Pearl and when i'm able to travel again i will make contact with you and myself, Brenda , you and Debbie can get together for dinner or something. Thanks for all the memories and you take care my friend.
