This is a report from 70+ Hodaka rider Bob Canfield at the ISDT Reunion Ride 2006.  I'm sure you'll find Bob has a great sense of humor and felt compelled to share it with everyone.  Ted DeSolar is mentioned as well as what befell the last row of riders that survived.

Thanks for the link to Bob's report Phil. The first thing I can add, is that I don't remember all of what he describes. The best memory for me is that riding Sunday behind Bob, is what the ride is all about. There was time to stop and chew the fat anytime and being able to help when it was needed. I rode with the attitude of - don't care how many points I lose - just enjoy the ride.

Does anyone remember if "Young Ted" wears a full face or 3/4 face helmet?  I can't thing anyone would be able to keep a straight face while watching what befell Bob Canfield in the mud.

To me, my helmet is open face. If that comes out 3/4, then that's what it is. As for Bob and the mud, I don't remember that at all. That I would laugh at such a time would not be right. The most notable of Bob's get offs, was when I found him against a tree off the trail. My question to him was - how did you get down here? It was a wood nymph using a vine for a lasso.

Speedy - Slow down, the boat doesn't leave 'till Tuesday. You and Burchard are favorites. Just don't grow up.
