Hi guys,

should the front fender bracket color match the triple clamp, or the frame?

Larry,

They should all be painted and gray is a good color.:D

Frame   The triple clamps were sent painted from Italy.

Best I remember, the front fender bracket was the same color as the frame.

Ok, same color as frame.  I'm on board!

I asked because I thought I remembered reading on here in the past where some would paint the triple clamp with Cast Coat Aluminum, which is a slightly warmer silver than the KTM frame silver.

I'll be a painting fool this weekend.  Will take some pics.

Larry:  Actually I really like the Dupli-Color 1650 cast coat aluminum engine enamel with smae brand/temp clear over the top.  I have an NOS aircleaner cover from a 1970 and it matches that combination perfect.  Granted the air cleaner cover may have darkened with age but it has been stored in dry warm enviroment in a box with my nos enduro kit so I think it is pretty close to the way it was.  Ted

Hi Ted,

I like the warmth of the Cast Coat Alum. 1650, too.

I'm off to pickup my daughter at KU for Christmas break today.

Everyone have a Merry Christmas.  Please say prayers for our troops.

Larry,
I thought your daughter was going to attend OU!?!?!??!?!?!????!!!!!
I know how it is, I tried to talk mine into OU as well, but she really liked the campus environment as ASU.

All I can say is it's proof of a massive failure of parenting on my part [B)]   As an OU grad, I'm getting so much s%*T from my OSU buddies I could swim in it.

Actually, I'm fine with it.  Both good schools, and she has a cousin and some good friends in Stillwater, so it will probably be a great place for her.

But I wouldn't stick my head in the oven if she changed her mind and went to OU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I know it's not stock but I like to polish the upper and lower triple clamps and clear coat them. I also polish and clear coat the lower fork sliders of my Cerianis. I like polished aluminum! Wildman
