hi point air box?

is any body familar with hi point air boxes? i purchased one for a 76 mc5 250 which will not fit without some serious modification. it looked like it would be a bolt in, but i dont have enough clearence between the pipe and frame rail or the box and swing arm. were these universal fit or by application. thanks, any help would be appreciated. dennis

I have two airboxes that may help you get over the hump, one is the all aluminum one very round in shape and canister appearing for 75/76 frames, I also have an original red/orange plastic one for 78 mc5, let me know if interested

I believe the Hi-Point airboxes were for the 78 model. Id be happy to swop you yours for a metal76/77 one?

mike, thanks for the information and the offer, i have put the stock air box back on and i am in the middle of a trade for the hi point box. if it doesnt work out i will let you know, thanks
