Jake Fischer's Hiro Powered Penton

Great to see Jake back in the mix of working on Pentons.  For those of you who are not familiar with Jake....just get any old motorcycle magazine back in the day and you will see Jake either winning or in the mix.  And it didn't matter if it was Enduro, Cross Country, Hill Climbs (yes he did this too) or Moto Cross Jake was one of the great riders of the era.  Just do a search on this site and you will find out how tough a rider he was/is and how much he helped a lot of others make a name in racing.  Thanks fo the picture and thanks Jake for all the help you have been to me over the years  before there was a Penton Owners Group.  I am forever proud to call you my Friend.

Great to see Crazy Jake's face and gorgeous bike.  A few years ago at the ISDT Reunion Ride he had the crowd roaring with this stories of riding the Dalton Six Days with a dislocated shoulder.  Hope he can make it back to the Reunion soon.
On another note, in the Mid-O pix, is that the Flyin Hawaiin with Mr. P on page 3?

Ron I took an intrest is Jakes bike too, and I was wondering if that frame he used is a 73-74 model. Did the 75 Hiro powered bikes have the laid down suspension? The chain on the left as well as a kicker on the right is also an eye catcher. I have been trying to convert one of my bikes (125 Six Day) to a conical hub from a 75 250 Penton. I'm wondering how Jake set up the brake pedal for his right sided brake on the Hiro machine? Thanks for any help. Gavin

Gavin,
  I wasn't at Mid Ohio(picture was fron the WebMaster)....but the Hiro bikes I have seen were built from the standard suspension bike.  Maybe someone else can tell us if they have seen a long travel Hiro?
