70 Steel Tanker

Hello folks are the cylinder fins cut on the right hand side for pipe clearence on a 70's Steel Tanker like they are on a Sachs or DKW? Anybody have any clseup pictures? thanks Ed

Yes they are cut.  My 70 has the bottom 3 fins cut starting at the front corner about half way into the the front corner radius and goes to rear.  The rear is cut in about 1 3/8" roughly.  I believe the DKW and Sachs are the same but not sure.  If needed I can provide a template as my exhaust is off the bike currently.  Sorry, my camera is at work. Ed, i have my 71 Steel tanker and my 70 Sachs/DKW sitting side by side on display, they are the same, Ted is correct on the measurements, hope this helps, regards, Mike G.
