Any 100 Pentons besides me comming Memorial day weekend?  Come on guys, its always all Hodaka's except me in the vintage class!

Mike,
I will be there again this year but Rad Randy (fast guy on a Hodaka) wont be.  I dont even think Phast Phil is going to make it.

No Penton for me though.  I sold the Steeltanker to a POG member earlier this year, so I didnt convert it to 100cc.

I have a 74 Suz TM100 that I will TRY to keep together for a few moto's.

Andy/Mike,

I'm going to try to make it for the 100cc National on Saturday so don't count me out just yet.  However, I'm invited to a party on Friday night where I will be expected to drink copious amounts of alcoholic beverages so I'm not 100% positive I'll be there.

Good luck guys!  Ride hard, be safe.  I wish I could be there to race too.

Mike,

I was there on Saturday but due to the track conditions because of the previous nights rain, the event was moved from Saturday to Sunday afternoon.  I couldn't make the races on Sunday because my stepson Derek was in town for the holiday from New York but thought of everyone having fun all day.  I did end up selling my Hodaka Ace 100 to JB Westhoff from Tulsa, OK on Sunday.  He wrote me to say he'd seen it and thought it was mine and was interested.  He's picking it up tonight.

He said you were FASSSSST but I already knew that.  Sorry, I couldn't try to see if I could place 2nd to your fast laps.  My question is, "Do you know who came in 2nd/3rd behind you?"

His number was 451 I believe,on a late 70,s Yamaha YZ 100.  He was actually in the post vintage class, but finished 2nd overall.  There were several intermediate class vintage riders but I was actually the only vintage expert guy. Beat all those post vintage expert boys anyway though! Bike ran GREAT.  I used the small 77 mc-5 125 pipe I had.  The post vintage YZ's and RM's pulled me a little, but not much.
Had an absolute blast!
Thanks again to Ron Carbough.  It is his cylinder that is doing the trick.  Other than that I just have a 26mm Bing and a PVL ignition.
Come on guys, put it down on your calender for next year.  We need more vintage class riders and Pentons!

Mike,
Thanks for the praise, but you are and have always been a great rider.  I am happy it worked out.  I was over at Sante Fe a couple of weeks ago and they have built a Shopping Mall at the Interstate and County Line.

When I go over there or hear stories like yours I actually get a sick feeling in my gut.  I have no idea why it bothers me so much.  After all its progress, so they say. I guess I just dont like seeing my childhood stomping grounds destroyed, or rural areas become urban. I am a country boy...and that was country when I was a young lad.

P.S.  I actually rode my Go Cart down county line road when I was a single digit!
