Jack Penton

It would be nearly impossible to thank each person that contributed to the success of the 40th / 10th Celebration over the weekend so let me attempt to thank you all by saying thanks this way.

Thank you to KTM for allowing us to take over their grounds and buildings.

On Friday morning we arrived at KTM and there was an empty parking lot. To those who turned that parking lot into our midway thank you and again thanks to KTM for the two semi trailers that completed the carnival atmosphere. When we walked into the KTM building it was an empty warehouse. A big thanks goes out to the people that transformed that space into the most amazing temporary museum of Penton and High Point memorabilia.

By Saturday morning the parking lot was filling with Penton motorcycles and the excitement was growing. Thanks so much to all of you that got out those treasures from shinny to rusty and brought them for all to enjoy.

By Saturday noon many had already enjoyed some good old KTM hospitality in the form of a demo ride on the newest KTM street bikes and a tour of the facilities. Thanks to those who made that possible.

Let the eating begin! I hope everyone enjoyed the food this weekend as much as I did. Thanks to all who helped with breakfast and the awesome sack lunch.

The Historical Sites tour was so fun for me to do but it would have been nothing but a bus ride without the participation of many. To those who contributed to the ride down memory lane, thank you very much. To the Penton Country Market thanks for the snacks all weekend. To the Bill Penton family thanks for every thing, love you.

Thanks to the German family for a perfect setting and the wonderful food for our banquet. To those who shared the evening with us thanks for coming. To those that shared their thoughts and memories thank you.

To the Amherst Fire Department, the Amherst Historical Society, the honorable Mayor of Amherst and those who shared in the worship service thank you for a wonderful Sunday morning.

The Amherst Police Department did a great job getting us on our bikes safely to and from Dad's house, thanks. Thanks to all you that worked to get all the old iron ready to ride. I heard that many of you burned the midnight oil in the workshop. That brings back some old memories.

The Callahan family deserves a big tip of the hat for the excellent food at the BBQ.

We will have photos and movies to share this event over and over and to those who recorded the event thank you.

There was a very special group of people who worked tirelessly to plan and make things happen during the Celebration weekend. Without those who contributed to cover every detail large and small this event would not have been possible. To those who stepped forward and volunteered your time a very heart felt thank you.

To my family Kovach, Leimbach and Penton I love you very much and thank you for being part of a very special weekend.

I have been fortunate to have had many memorable times in my life and this last weekend I will cherish with those.

Big thanks to Mother Nature for blessing us with outstanding weather.

My final thank you is to God for giving me this time to share with all of you.

Thank you all, I love you!

Jack

Jack,
Sorry I couldn't make it, but true to form you and all of your Family, Friends, KTM and POG Members probably had the greatest gathering of any motorcycle name of strictly Racing Brand of Motorcycle and did it with such class bringing it back to where it all started.  As you have proven to be a true Champion on the track you have proven you are a Champion on doing it the best in other fields of endeaver.  I would encourage anyone who attended that has not read the John Penton book by Ed Youngblood to do it now while things are fresh in your mind.  And for those that couldn't make it the book is a great read.
I would not feel right if I didn't bring up the fact that my  late Friend Richard Sanders would have loved to been around to make this great event.  To bring things into perspective Richard once said when ask how he ended up with 4 dealerships that included all the big 4, Harley and BMW that Mr. Penton made it happen.  Thanks to the Penton Family for all the wonderful years of memories and for being a great Family that includes all the Employees that made it happen.
