Morning-
My efforts to identify the amount of oil, recommended viscosity, and measurement from the top of the damper-rod, etc have not been successful w/the 40mm fork.  Any direction would be super.
Thank you!

Hi Tim,

I dont have specs on those forks specifically but I do the same thing with any damper fork. I use ATF (about 5 wt) and put in 6" from the top of the fork with it collapsed and the springs out. As you know, I am a bit smaller than you so you would probably be good to start with 15 or 20wt.

Brian-
Very much appreciate the response, sir.  Also, the detail is a bonus; thank you!  There appears to be a bunch-more going on w/this damper rod system than any Husqvarna I've endeavored.  And yes, this project should have been started a bit earlier.
Best of week and safe travel to those making their way to Alabama.

No problem Tim, I hope it helps you get the bike set up. I have always heard that ATF was 5wt, but I got a note from someone that it is closer to 20wt. I really dont know what ATF is, but I like the results I get with it. To be sure you might want to get a true fork oil with a specific weight.

Have '83 250 40mm Marzokes, running ATF 6" from top of tubes, fully compressed, no spring. Works good, about right for heavy rider with shortened heavy springs + 2.5" solid spacer.
