Skip Miller, Mike Parker, Steve Fox, and Tom Flores represented the Penton stable.  Bobby Lucas was also present with his display of Pentons but had to work instead of racing the event.

Saturday was a cold and windy day, the track layout and dirt was absolutely wonderful for the 110+ Vintage racers.

Skip Miller managed a 5th overall in the 250 Sportsman Intermediate, Mike Parker (1-1) 1st overall in the 100cc Sportsman Expert and Tom Flores finished (1-1) 1st overall in the 100cc Sportsman Intermediate. For whatever reason they split the 100 Expert & Intermediates into two separate motos intermingled with other classes?  Unfortunatly Steve's day ended in the first moto due to a mechanical problem.

Sundays weather was perfect, and the track was again well prepared for the 120+ Post Vintage riders.  Skip Miller and Tom Flores were the only Penton mounted riders and each of us raced the Historic 250cc class with our MC5's. Skip managed a (5-5) 5th place finish and Tom (1-2)for a 2nd overall.

Ernie,
Next weekend there will be a vintage MX here in Lake City. It's a new track and they are doing a vintage race for the grand opening. Some of the Florida guys will be showing up. I plan to go by and kick tires and fill tanks.
Will try and get some pictures and post them. Should be some Pentons
running.

Tom and TX Penton racers -- great job!

John,  Always good to hear about new vintage tracks.  I'm done racing for 2008 but may get to see you at Gatorback in 2009.  I hope the FL-VMX, SE AHRMA & non-AHRMA guys can work together to create 2009 schedules that don't conflict. Since my principle interest is CC, it is doubtful that I would travel to FL for a local VMX race.  I do believe that some of the mid & south GA VMX racers would participate in FL events that are within reasonable driving distance.  Thanks for the update.
